TIMELESS SERUM & PPSO Scientific Review | The Most Nutritious Botanical Oil on Earth

STATEMENT

PPSO (Prickly Pear Seed Oil) contains 180% more omega-6 than argan oil and 830% more than olive oil. PPSO has the highest iodine value among all the other oils, showing that it contains the highest amount of unsaturated fatty acids.

Item: Omega-6 Fatty Acids

Conclusion:

The Opuntia fictus-indica oil had a relatively high iodine value thus reflecting a high degree of unsaturation. El-Mostafa et al (2014) state that the omega-6 in PPSO is 65.21%, while in Argan oil is 29%, thus making PPSO more nutritious oil than Argan oil. The Iodine number of PPSO is 119 which is higher than Argan Oil (90) (SAWAYA & KHAN, 1982).

EXCERPTS

Several studies have indicated that cactus particularly; fruits, pulp, seed and prickly pear peel were rich in linolenic, oleic and palmitic acids. A high level of omega-6 linoleic acid is reported in cactus seed oil (53.5% to 70.29%) and this level is higher than in sunflower oil, grape seed oil or sesame oil. As a precursor of arachidonic acid, linoleic acid has long been accepted as having a hypocholesterolemic effect and inhibitory properties against colon cancer metastatic cells.

Note:

Linoleic acid is a type of omega-6 fat. The value of iodine number reflects the amount of unsaturated fatty acids in the oil.[1]

STATEMENT

The prickly pear seed oil contains 160% more vitamin E than argan oil and 320% more than olive oil.

Item: Vitamin E (Tocopherol)

Conclusion:

Vitamin E (a.k.a the vitamin of youth) found in prickly pear seed oil is the highest of any botanical oils. This vitamin is the most powerful antioxidant that gets rid of our body's free radicals responsible for the ageing process. It regenerates, soothes irritations and speeds up the healing process. It is also a natural protective filter for our skin against UV radiation. The prickly pear seed oil contains 3 times more vitamin E than argan. This oil is the ultimate organic rejuvenating elixir.

EXCERPTS:

Gharby et al (2015) claim that PPSO has 946mg/kg which higher than the amount of Vitamin E in Argan Oil. El Abbassi et al (2014) states that the amount of Vitamin E in Argan oil is 250mg/kg when it comes to skincare. Thus, the amount of Vitamin E in PPSO is almost 3 times more than in Argan oil.

Note:

Vitamin E is a group of fat-soluble compounds including tocopherols which are further divided into four different types. Vitamin E[2] has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammation properties that stop the skin from ageing. Pedersen (2009) argue that inflammation is linked with ageing. People get old because of the inflammation that occurs in their tissues. Sinclair (2019) also categorically linked ageing with the inflammation of the body. He described the process of ageing and stated that the body gets old because of the inflammation characteristics of the body parts. PPSO in this regard reverses the inflammation of the tissues, thus making the skin timeless and young.   Because of this miraculous property of Prickly Pear Seed oil, it is also known as Timeless Serum.

STATEMENT: Prickly pear seed oil is rich in Phytosterols

Item: Phytosterols

Conclusion:

Prickly pear seed oil is rich in Phytosterols[3], which participates in the regulation of intracellular processes, supports the regeneration and strengthening of the epidermis and hydrate the skin. Phytosterols also support hair loss and fast regrowth of healthy hair and softening of hair.

EXCERPTS

According to the results reported by Ramadan and Mörsel, who studied the composition of prickly pear pulp and seeds oils, it was shown that for both oils, the main sterol present was β-sitosterol with 1.12 ± 0.121 and 0.675 ± 0.089 g/100 g, respectively. Campesterol is the second sterol present in larger amounts in both oils (0.874 ± 0.075 g/100 g for pulp oil and 0.166 ± 0.021 g/100 g for seeds oil).

Note: Phytosterols are components of cellular structures and are divided into different components. The two components, specifically β-sitosterol and Campesterol take part in the strengthening of skin cells and help them in regeneration, making skin cells fresh and timeless.

EXCERPTS

Ramadan & Mörsel (2003) proved that the concentration of Vitamin K (k1) is 0.5g/kg which is substantially higher than Argan Oil.

Note: Vitamin K has not been detected in Argon oil as no scientific study has been found.

[1] Iodine number determines the degree of unsaturation fatty acid in the oil. As omega-6 is a fatty acid, thus higher the iodine number, the higher the omega-6 in the oil.

[2] Vitamin E is also called Tocopherol

[3] Both β-sitosterol and Campesterol are the most important parts of sterols making them healthier for the skin and also aids in regeneration.
